As the new season approaches I thought I would explore my nail polish collection and put together a nail wheel of what I've been wearing and what I predict I will continue to wear throughout the coming weeks!
As you can see there are a variety of light and dark shades. This year I don't think Autumn and Winter necessarily mean 'dark', as pastel shades are continuing to be big and are featured in a lot of ranges where woolen knits and tweed are a main focus. For example 'Margot's World', the pastel A/W collection currently in Topshop.

I have consistently worn all five of these colours over the past few weeks and I can see myself using them until the bottles or empty or the polish dries up! The two Topshop polishes I would say give the best coverage and only require two coats, whereas the Barry M ones and the Models Own one usually need three or more thin coats to give an opaque finish. I don't mind being patient when applying 'Indian Ocean' because the result is BEAUTIFUL!

On the right here is a suede polish that I chose to include purely because it is so unique. It dries pretty much instantly and I just love touching my nails when I wear this. It's the perfect gothic shade too.

After the pastels come the golden metallics and rich warm tones. I chose these four as they all say to me glamorous and luxurious. The dark red Rimmel shade is so easy to apply with the thick brush and is a thick consistency, it is the perfect winter glam colour. Moving on to the O.P.I mini which is from the muppets minis collection from 2011, I love wearing this in the winter months. It is made up of both gold and red glitter and it's an absolute beaut. This H&M polish is super cheap and very impressive. The shade is made up of teeny tiny glitters and goes on smoothly to leave an almost metallic finish. And the MAC nail laquer is just about a darker bronze version of the H&M one! You can imagine wearing these with a lot of black clothes, leather and black faux fur.

These three polishes are my favourites for a dark rock chick look, as the name of the Filthy Gorgeous polish suggests! All three of these are fun to wear and catch the light beautifully. This Revlon Moon Candy polish is the only one from the collection that I currently own and I was instantly drawn to the reflective large glittery bits in the top coat. The purple colour itself isn't too special but once the top coat is on it looks fabulous, reflecting blues and purples. The Topshop polish also changes in the light and looks like an oil slick! It's almost looks black at times but has a gorgeous sheen of purpley green. And this Filthy Gorgeous polish has to be the most glittery one I have ever owned! A couple of light coats covers your nail completely and the pewter colour is indeed very rock n roll.

I searched for such a long time for a holographic nail polish a few months ago and now they are readily available in most brands, but my favourite is still the cheap and cheerful Gosh polish here. As far as I know it was one of the first available. The coverage is brilliant, and the effect is just perfect. The Topshop polish is a glitter take on holographic and gives the same effect. It's fun to layer on top of other shimmerless polishes. Next I have included a simple black polish, and then a stunning polish from Models Own which I love to layer over the top of it. Snowflakes is so unique in that you get a completely different look by applying it over different colours. For a cute wintery look this looks beautiful on top of a baby blue.

My choices wouldn't be complete without a couple of pops of colour. Plume is my most recent purchase and I absolutely LOVE it. I actually gasped when I saw it and rushed to buy it immediately! It's so unique in the way it shines in a variety of pink and purple shades, and it's so smooth and like liquid metallic perfection. I will definitely be wearing this to death.
Likewise with Blitz which I've now owned for a few months, I can't get enough of it. Forever a girly girl, pink will always make an appearance.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed my first 'proper' post!
